About Pilates
Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates, born in Germany in 1883. He called his method Contrology — the art of controlled movement — and refined it over decades in his New York studio from the 1920s onward, inventing the apparatus we still train on today, the reformer among them.
It is a mind–body method: precise, low-impact strength work built around breath, alignment and control, where the mind directs every movement and the body answers. Practised regularly it builds deep core strength, mobility, balance and posture — and a calm, focused kind of energy that follows you out of the studio. For many people it is truly life-changing.

The heart of the method — strength, mobility and control on the mat. Open to everyone, from your very first class.
Up to 4 people · 60 min
Semi-private work on the studio's apparatus — reformers, arcs, magic circles and more — tailored to each body in the room.
Just you · 60 min
A session built entirely around your body — for a specific goal, an injury, or simply the fastest way to progress.
Live · 60 min
Real classes over Zoom, timed kindly for the southern hemisphere — and an on-demand library on its way.
Start here
Everyone can walk straight into a matwork class. The apparatus asks for a short introduction first — and if you'd like a guided runway into the method, the six-week course is the loveliest start.
